Spain

Oh man, the last few days have been pretty wonderful. On Friday I met with my summer boss for lunch. She really likes me and I am so excited to get to work (go to www.moviehatch.com and register for free to see what I do). Then I walked around my old high school neighborhood and met up with the Spain girls to discuss...Spain.

Saturday I had a girl's day with my mom and grandma. We went to brunch at this great restaurant and I ate a grilled peanut butter and banana sandwich with strawberries and blueberries on the side + the bread was b
asically cranberry walnut french toast. DELICIOUS (Jimmy, I thought of you while I was eating it). Then we did some business-y attire shopping for me and my new job and then ate these delicious little bite sized cupcakes that I am getting all non-NYC residents when they come and visit me. After that, I had a "grown up dinner" with my Dad, Jesse, our family friends Jack & Anita and Vinnie & Anne Marie. I was the only one there under the age of 39. But it was fun..we had Indian food (chicked tikka masala, samosas, and coconut soup).

Today I went to Brooklyn to have an impromtu birthday celebration for Caroline. It was fabulous seeing Yana, Bridget and Liz. Yana was freaking out about how Malik, her boyfriend and one of my best guy friends, has recently become a male model and she says she feels "fat and ugly"....which she is not. I had a quice and iced coffee and then went back to NJ, packed for several hours, visited Jack & Anita with my mom, played with their 3 m onth old Habanese puppy Remy, then packed some more.

SPAIN HERE I COME! (Max is going to! Wouldn't it be weird if we randomly bumped into each other? It would be "UNREALLL...")

I'm happy to be home! But sad to be away from Temple....
David came over and we took a whole bunch of photobooth pictures while I waited for my RA to come check me out.

Otherwise, it took me forever to get to my NJ home. I met up with my mom and Quinn and went to see Star Trek, which was really good. Then I spent 5 hours unpacking and organizing everything.

Goals for the Summer:
1. learn to drive/get my learner permit
2. learn to skateboard
3. make a kick ass stop motion film (w/ the help of my friends)
4. make a kick ass documentary film (w/ the help of my friends)
5. summer fling
6. find a paying job?
7. go to Adventureland/Siren/APW/a variety of other fun concerts or theme parks
8. exercise
Things that I plan to take advantage of now that I am at home:
1) bubble baths
2) home cooked meals/good fruit and veggies
3) time (as in, i’m going to use it wisely)
4) my own room
5) my friends (as in, i’m going to spend a whole lot of time with them)
6) Television (perhaps I’ll actually start watching it again)

Things I miss about Temple:
1) everything...
2) except writing papers taking tests, and enduring 3 hour lectures

Corny Collins

What a fabulous year. I couldn't have asked for a better time. I remember the very first few days of Welcome Week when none of us really knew each other. We went to a party on Susquehanna and awkwardly sipped beer in a circle. Now we pee in bathrooms together, take pictures of us peeing in bathrooms together, occasionally hook up with the same guys (pukey#1 and #2), have formed badass gangs with letterman jackets that read "Hard Cs, Hard Cocks", apple pie shots, dancing with gay men, Obama winning the election and rioting in the streets, Disney movies galore, karaoke nights, "I'm a penguin, I live in Nevada/I'm a penguin, I'm on the bottom", quoting Arrested Devlepment like it's our job, "I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend...", Black Mamba, role playing, hang over breakfasts, family dinners etc. THE LIST WILL GO ON FOREVER! But tomorrow is pretty much goodbye day. All the goodbyes must be said :(

On a happier note, I just found out that I pretty much have my own apartment in Harlem this summer. All must visit. Parties will go down, but not in the crazy sense.
I'm really happy about this.

Kicking Things in the Face!

Blogging is getting kind of addicting! (I now have a tumblr too: www.kmccann.tumblr.com) Though I never really know what to say that would be particularly interesting. Today I took my first final, Media Arts 2. I kicked it in the face Power Rangers style..I've been reading Caitlin's blog. Tomorrow my dad, step-mom, and beloved little brother are visiting/helping me pack up some of my immense shit. It blows my mind as to how old Quinn looks now. Here are before and after photos. The first one is baby Quinn, blond and adorable with chunky lips. The second photo was taken in November 2008. The third photo was taken 3 weeks ago. Can you say puberty?!

I am also kicking my dorm packing in the face. It's particularly annoying that when packing I have to take special consideration of packing half of my belongings in "Mom bags" and the other half in "Dad bags." It's the only real downside to having divorced parents, which sounds weird. But my parent's divorce was a blessing in disguise. As a result, I moved to NYC and have 2 great step parents that I can't imagine living without. It was hard at the time, of course. And it forced me to grow up faster than I should have, but it was an important life experience.

:)

I've decided to take
drawing requests. I've been lacking in the inspiration department lately and only seem to find drawing hands particularly entertaining. So if anyone has a request (i.e. a portrait, scenario etc.) I will gladly take it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIMMY!

Some Sketches

Jimmy and Caitlin gave me the idea of doing an art themed blog, or just uploading drawings, sketches etc. So here are a few that I've done in the last semester.
