Random Ramblings

I think that one of the best things in the world is to wake up to the smell of brewing coffee or cooking bacon. Thankfully this happens to me a lot seeing as how my room is practically in the kitchen. Other comforting smells: burning wood, my aunt's house (which is in Woodstock and smells like a combination of lavender, wet wool, and hippie.)

Lately I have developed a bit of a Pinkberry addiction. I don't know why but I LOVE Pinkberry. My favorite combination to get is a small pomegranate yogurt with chocolate chips and raspberries.

I have recently fallen in love with my mom's replacement for me. PICO! We spent the entirety of last night cuddling and spooning and purring. I'm going to have to steal her at some point. This is picture of Quinnius holding her in all her glory.

I've recently developed a renewed love of The X-Files. It was a show I grew up watching with my parents (who never really believed in censoring my brother and I from violence, sex, and scary things). The show terrified me when I was little and terrifies me to this day. Aliens are scary ass motherfuckers. The concept of being abducted and not remembering being abducted or being abducted and never coming back to earth is kind of terrifying. I think aliens definitely go up there on my list of fears, right above sharks in swimming pools (a fear I totally share with Caitlin) and below giving birth/being pregnant without realizing it (this is due to that terrible show I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant which puts awful ideas in one's head.)

Part of my job description requires me to read scripts and give my boss a review of them. And I have to say, there are a surpringly large amount of scripts about Santa Claus...and a big percentage of those Santa Claus scripts are either about Santa's dysfunctional family (Holli Claus in L.A......i'm not kidding, that's the actual title) or are of the Christmas-horror film genre (Dis Kris Kringle Kill). It's hilarious. I hope these movies one day get made.

I recently purchased my Harry Potter 6 premier ticket. I'm so excited. I'm seeing the premier at Kips Bay Theater, which is where I saw the last 2 Harry Potter movies. I'm going to dress up either as a wizard or a portkey.

717 YEAAAAAAAAAH!

I love the 717. I love everything about it. Especially Neato Burrito. Jimmy's house was beautiful, Caitlin threw an amazing party, Jen's baby was precious! Highlights were Audrey, Cowboy Crunch burritos, The 717 Salvation Army, Major Barry asking me "what's wrong with war!?" after pointing out that the stuffed house elf was missing a limb and therefore a war veteran, my failed blowjob shot attempts, singing Journey karaoke, winning the Florida tray during Disney bingo, Murphy's nose blots, the 3 USA jell-o molds, the drunk dials to St. Matt and Justin, grocery shopping at Weis in full granny attire, 2AM pool dips, cherry hookah, Yu Gi Oh cards, terrible flip cup skills, Matt & Kim dance party, Caitlin looking like Benjamin Franklin's wife...Martha Franklin?, Chocolate World, Hard C's reunion etc.

The Lonesome Heroes

Oh my goodness, I have had a truly lovely last few days. On Wednesday I was reunited with Connie, one of best friends who moved to Colombia after Freshman year of High School. We went out to dinner at Blockheads and then went to Tessa's house and played Scattergories until our stomachs hurt from laughing so hard.

The next day I went to Brooklyn(!) to start working as PA (production assistant) on a music video set for a country-esque band called The Lonesome Heroes. It was SO MUCH FUN. The first day I just did clerical work, like looking up the hour-by-hour local weather forecasts and calling costume shops to see if they rent Elvis suits. Danny, the director of the music video IS SO CUTE! Albeit 29 years old and has a GF. But we chilled in his apartment and I played with his fat ass cat Linus. The day after I had a 10AM call time to the actual shoot, where I ran a variety of errands like picking up batteries and lunch and computer harddrives and ice. At one point I even helped the gaffers rig up some lights. The crew was so nice and helpful and social and I even became friends with one of the other PAs. Her name is Gaby and she is kind of a hot mess, but we got along great and had a good time hanging out during our down time. However, she is a completely reckless driver and I never want to be in a car with her ever again! She drove at least 20 miles over the speed limit, ran through red lights, almost ran over some pedestrians in a crosswalk, blasted her music, and bitched out a harmless couple trying to jwalk. Mind you this was all on a coffee run that shouldve lasted 10 min but took 35 because we had to meet her drug dealer. Fuck no. Otherwise, a nice lady.

This is the song for the music video, the concept behind it was really cute. You can see from the pictures.

I also became friends with a nice Austin couple named Ted and Emma and while I was acting as bouncer outside ANNIE FOGARTY, my dear sweet duture roommate, stops in her car and says hello. Completely by coincidence, but she lives in the neighborhood which we were shooting so it made sense. Oh and I wasn't paid in cash for my 16 hour shift....I was paid in pizza and beer, which I think is a fine trade off for honest labor.

The next day I had to babysit for these kids WHOM I LOVE! They are the cutest, coolest, and funniest kids of all time. Jimmy and Caitlin would have had a wonderous time there as well. And speaking of Jimmy and Caitlin, I WILL BE SEEING YOU TOMORROW! AND JEN TOO! We need to make plans with herrrr!

Snaggle Tooth

So today I decided to do some rifling around in the various boxes in my room containing junk I cannot bear to throw away. Amongst the New Found Glory patches, horoscope clippings, and candle wax statues, I found a variety of objects and items that I felt the need to share with you.

These are pair of Barbie ballerina slippers I received for my 15th birthday. The sad thing is...they fit me. Albeit in a "if I were to wear them too long my feet would resemble that of a 19th century Chinese prostitute's."

Here we have a variety of class pictures. The first is hideous 8th grade Keiran, followed by fashion challenged 6th grade Keiran (wearing a Lmt. Too dress), followed by dressed entirely in blue 3rd grade and friend Antoine, and finally 7th grade Keiran (who though it was cool to wear shirts from the H&M toddler department). Notice in photos 2 and 4 that my feet dangle precariously off of my chair, not quite hitting the floor.

These next images are from my snaggle toothed days. An x-ray and plaster mold of the chompers that scared my reflection for about 2 years.

This here is 6 year old Keiran's passport photo. Within the 5 years that I had this passport validated I went to Brazil and the Bahamas.

Attention Grabbers

Things that have captured my attention today. A Daniel Craig shaped popsicle, a cat that falls 23 stories and lives, and a new comic book called President Evil, and a delightful mash-up involving KEYBOARD CAT!

Oscars and Bacon

I like my job more and more every day. Today we went to the School of Visual Arts to discuss sound with this hilarious old man named Chris Newman. Every other word out of his mouth was either fuck, asshole, schmuck, or hutzpah! And he was extremely helpful and nice. He told me Temple is a great school but that he has some beef with the film department because he applied for a job there 10 years ago and he still hasn't heard back from them. But get this, after the interview I learn that this silly old Jewish man from South NJ has won 3 Oscars!!!!! For The English Patient, Amadeus, and the Exorcist!! And he was nominated for Fame! I was so impressed! And on The English Patient he worked with this sound genius Walter Murch, who we were forced to learn about in my film classes. DAYUM!!

Later today I have plans to go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to see the Francis Bacon (no affiliation to Keven Bacon) exhibit that I missed at the Prado when we were in Madrid.

It's been too long!

It has been too long since I last posted anything.

Spain
AMAZING! Everyone should go to Barcelona and Seville at some point in their life. Sangria is delicious and we should only drink that for the rest of our lives. Animals in Spain are 100 times funnier than in the states. I only know how to order food and say "kiss me." We made a whole bunch of Canadian friends. We took about 3000 pictures between the 4 of us who went. (Here is a picture of me in our Madrid hostel next to room 324!)

I reunited with my besties at Mercedes' house the other night. Everyone was introduced to Schatz and they all LOVED him. It was a good night. Also, Malik is a model and I have attached some photos of him for us to all laugh at. Here is a conversation I had with my dad after showing him pictures-
K: BAHAHAHAHAH I mean look at him! It's Malik and he's a model!
D: Well, he IS pretty gorgeous.
K:.......................BAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!
D: What!? He's a gorgeous guy, i'm sure he'll be very successful.

I love my dad.

Also also, Matt came into NYC yesterday and we went to The Bodies exhibit and walked half the length of Manhattan. It was a really cool but really epensive exhibit. Did you know that the bodies in there are mostly Chinese prisoners who were executed? It's all very hush-hush but apparently true. Oh, and Matt touched a real human brain. They also had a room that showed babied is various stages of fetal development and it was really disturbing but also really interesting and for some reason I kept thinking of you Caitlin and Jimmy when we were looking around. I don't think you would have liked it very much. ALSO ALSO, I told Matt that we now call it "pulling a St. Lawrence" when people hook up in the middle of the street and it turns out he had ABSOLUTELY NO recollection of ever doing that and was really embarassed and shocked when I told him. Hahahahhahaha!

Today I am spending the day with my dear sweet papa, going to see Terminator 4 and maybe play some tennis.

I MISS YOU ALL!
